Isaac's new Web Site The Isaac Guillory Web Site
The Cryan' Shames Home Page has now gone "Global" with the addition of The Isaac Guillory Web Site (in England) as one of it's satellites. Isaac's wife Victoria asked us to take over the helm as his webmasters earlier this month. Though the new web site is still under construction due to the difficult nature of his On-Line Guitar School, the rest of the site is 90% complete.
James Fairs has graciously offered to be our technical adviser for the Isaac Guillory On-Line Guitar School (thank goodness!), so the rest of the web site should be up and running soon.
Also Featured on Isaac's web site are previously unreleased photos of Isaac (thanks Marlene and Vicki!), his Biography in England, and all of Isaac's solo Cds - including his latest "Swansong". U.S.A. fans will need to get an international money order (in english Pounds) to purchase the CDs from Vicki Guillory.

Speaking of James Fairs, we just received the following announcement from him:
April 12, 2002
For Immediate Release
BWP Online, Open for Biz
Bradenton, Fla. (April 12, 2002) - Bananawhale Productions is quite a
well-traveled company. It made its debut in Cannes, France at MIDEM, the
largest tradeshow in the music industry. CEO James Fairs then made trips
to Chicago and New York to play, network and spread the word. And now, a
new journey is in progress. Bananawhale Productions is traveling the roads of the World Wide Web's virtual superhighway on its site www.bananawhale.com James Fairs's new Web Site
The BWP web site, like the company itself, is a musical haven. Net surfers can learn about the company, from its services to bios of its artists, and hear the music from 11 projects in a variety of genres currently under the BWP umbrella. In addition, visitors can purchase CDs, read the latest news and download or view everything from music to guitar chords to poetry.
"We are psyched about the launch of the web site," said James. "It offers our artists' fans a place to listen to the music and learn about what
we're up to."
And, the timing of the site launch is perfect; a number of special
agreements have been recently reached with some of the most influential
firms in the business, including Sonic Foundry, Tonos.com, Cdex and
Biodrummer. These and other quality software applications are available
with the online purchase of BWP's Loop CDs.
"We are elated with the confidence these firms have shown in our company and our products, and we're proud to extend the value of these relationships to our web site," James said. "But, these are just a few of the strategic alliances we are developing right now. New software from new firms will also be made available directly from the site to those who purchase our Loop CDs, now and in the future, through a product code that will allow them to access the programs as they become available."
The web site will continue to evolve and grow. Marketing manager Andrea Dennis envisions ongoing creative and practical expansions for
bananawhale.com.
"Bananawhale.com will go beyond listen and learn," she said. "Visitors
will eventually be able to alert friends of the site from the site, enter
contests for prizes and sign up for E-Peel, the company's e-mail alerts."
"This is definitely a work-in-progress," James said. "We're very excited
and grateful for the reaction to our product line. This is a time of
incredible growth, and our first objective was just to get the site in good working order. Now, we'll be making changes regularly to keep it fresh and to continue entertaining and informing the fans. It's going to be amazing."
Bananawhale Productions, located in Bradenton, Fla., is a self-sufficient production house with special emphasis on originality and innovation. BWP discovers, transforms and establishes artists of all genres in a specialized creative environment.

Ron sent us this fine tuna fish picture from his latest fishing adventure down in the Delta in Louisiana.

And a thank you from Victoria Guillory:
"..To everyone who supported the night at the Hard Rock Cafe ...I 've spent a long time trying to think of what to say to you all.....first of all thank
you to everyone who made it happen...and you already know who they are !!!
but especially to Jim Pilster for sharing his evening with Isaac....I know that Isaac will have been there with you all and being as humble as he was, ( in public!!) ) he will have been wondering what all the fuss was about !!
I have had literally hundreds of e-mails from people who loved my husband and that was strange at first but now it makes me feel good and most of all proud !! Our children Ellie and Jacob were only ages 6 and 2 when they lost their Daddy and although we tallk about him all the time....I've kept lots of things which they can look at when they're older and appreciate what he was to other people and what a special person he was ....not just a fantastic Daddy !!!!
One person who I communicated with alot was Marlene and I didn't even know she existed til after Isaac died...!! it seems he had an " e-mail life "
which I was not party to, due to my own technophobia which was quickly
overcome in January 2001 when I realised that in order to keep his CDs
available to people I had to touch the dreaded computer !!! being in touch
with people from his past is very comforting because although he knew I
would not be alone..... I wonder if he expected me to make new
friends....from old !! which I have !! he knows of course.............his
love comes from all quarters.
I feel so lucky that he made so many good friends during his life and that he made such an impression on people ......of course he made quite an impression on me when I was only 17yrs old when I first saw him and heard him play at a local folk club !!!! We had to wait 10 yrs to get together and then had 13 years which were only too short !! Isaac was very resiliant and even during his illness he was characterisically up-beat and brave..I know this sounds corny but he really was...we were together as a family for almost every day of the 9 months we had after his diagnosis and he died with us, in our house
as he wanted to.
Anyway.......I just want you all to know that we thank you all and appreciate your remembering Isaac on such a special night.
With love,"

SCRAMBLE UPDATE
New Scramble Playdates!
Scramble has been performing some fine gigs prior to The Cryan' Shames Concert season, and has been a relief to our Cabin-Fever Cryan' Shames fans who were in winter with drawl. When Jim Pilster (J.C. Hooke) attends a Scramble gig, the guys play to Jim's added percussion and often perform a lot more Cryan' Shames material. If you're a classic rock fan, or just want to hear some raw jams played at earsplitting volumes..you don't want to miss SCRAMBLE!.
Scramble's next playdates are featured on Ron Brandt's web site (www.ronbrandt.com).
Speaking of Scramble, below is a story by Ron Brandt:
ROCKY'S 50th B-DAY BASH
By Ron Brandt
It's always a party when Scramble plays a club date. But the gig at Hotshots in Warrenville on March 22, 2002 was more than just another fun gig because it was also Rocky's birthday. And not just any birthday. It was the big FIVE 0! 25 times two!! Half of a freakin' century!!! This guy must have been around when the Dead Sea Scrolls were just sick. Maybe even before dirt!
But I digress. The band, on this now historic night, consisted of the birthday boy Bruce "Rocky" Penn, Paul Wood, Jeff Rutter, Jim Pilsner and Ron Brandt. There were several dedicated Scramble and Shames fans in attendance, some Hotshots regulars, a few out of towners who found us through the web (Marty and ... Jeff was it?) as well as a fairly large gathering of exuberant, attractive young ladies ! .... no, it was more like a big group of rowdy coeds ... actually, they appeared to be rehearsing for the next "Girls Gone Wild" video so maybe the best description would be, free spirited party chicks. Yeah ... that's what they were. Free spirited. Ahmmmmm ... anyway, since there's nothing like a rockin' dance floor to energize the band, we played a first set featuring mostly up-tempo tunes to incite a dance crowd and got great results. Our "free spirited" guests took up most of the dancing space.
Aside from some skinny hair stylist wearing black vinyl pants and a spandex top he borrowed from his Barbie doll collection, the group of girls didn't have any male companionship with them so they danced with each other and seemed to really enjoy the female partner thing. They seemed to enjoy it a whole lot. Not that there was too much touching going on during the all-girl dance revue. In fact, while others in att! endance may disagree, I thought it was rather tasteful. But no doubt they were having a good time as evidenced by their boundless, and at times topless, enthusiasm. Being a life long student of sociological behavior, I found it an interesting observation as simple female fun on a sports bar dance floor transformed into a side show of carnal exploration with inhibitions ignored and innocence challenged. By the attentive stares of my band mates, I could tell that they were students of social behavior as well and not offended by this display of same-sex group intimacy ... just a few feet in front of us ... and all within the limits of good taste ... per Scramble standards.
When the set ended, we picked up our collective jaws and celebrated Rocky's birthday with our own group of family and close friends. Debby Brandt, my thoughtful wife and Chicago Marathon finisher (that oughta score me some badly needed points!), brought in a birthday cake ! so we sang the traditional song to Rocky, spanked his naked behind until it was beet red and then ravaged the cake. (AFTER washing our hands!) The birthday boy also got a bunch of wacky gag gifts. The type that are useless after the initial laugh wears off. But I have to report that I did see him pocket the bottle of Beano. Set # two meant Jeff moves over to bass and Paul gets to play guitar. Whenever the lineup includes Paul, Jeff and Ron we take turns as the bass-player-wannabe. And as usual, guest artists are always welcome.
Deb brought in a professional singer friend, the lovely and talented Caron, who was kind enough to get up and do a few songs with us. Caron brought the house down with her powerful voice and energetic stage presence. A very tough act to follow. So after Caron's appearance we cranked out some of our best danceable material and our favorite table ... was still eating cake. But our second favorite table, that group of attractive young girls had other ideas. Like dancing on tables, removing their tops (again, in a very tasteful way) and really enjoying each other's company. Most of the suggestive grinding and hip thrusting motions were directed from one girl to another. Or from two girls to one girl. Or from a group of three toward an imaginary target in the middle.
Suffice to say the phrase "dirty dancing" was redefined on March 22, 2002. Even the most rare "all-girl-single-file-group-hump-line-dance" thing took place. About this time I thought it would be a good idea to squint in the direction of our favorite table and make it clear that, not only can't I see without my glasses but also that I'm having nothing to do with this erotic lesbian circus happening just in front and a little to the left of where I was standing on stage. In fact, the other musicians and myself were hardly aware of anything ! out of the ordinary as we concentrated mainly on our performance. Although, I did happen to see Jimmy P struggling to climb up onto the "tops off dancing table" himself. But the combination of playing cowbell, blowing that damn whistle, removing his own top and table climbing was a little more than our favorite cowbellist could conquer at the time. So he gracefully danced around the official "tops off dancing table," clearly in a sincere effort to protect the young girls from hurting themselves in the event that they should fall. That's just the kind of guy Jim is. Fortunately, nobody fell or was injured for the remainder of the evening and we all went home with slightly foggy, yet fond mammaries ... I mean memories (as well as a few memorable photos) of the things that truly stuck out in course of the night. After the bar was closed for the night and we were busy packing up, more than once I heard someone say, "It's good to be in the band!"
